Relora-Plex is a unique blend of two herbal extracts, Magnolia officinalis and Phellodendron amurense, combined with B vitamins for the maintenance of good health.
- Magnolia officinalis and Phellodendron amurense are used in traditional Herbal Medicine to temporary relieve symptoms of perceived stress.
- When the body experiences stress, cortisol secretion increases, causing a breakdown of muscle protein and the release of amino acids to form glucose via gluconeogenesis.
- The resulting higher level of glucose in the body, combined with the decreased use of glucose by other tissues, ensures that the brain is receiving adequate energy to protect the body. While cortisol secretion is an important part of the body's response to stress, the prolonged secretion of cortisol can have negative effects to the proper functioning of the body including immune function, digestion, and hormones.
- The extracts of Magnolia officinalis and Phellodendron amurense, honokiol and berberine, found in Relora®, have been studied in randomized clinical trials showing positive results in reducing perceived stress.
- Both honokiol and berberine are known to have an anxiolytic effect on the body, decreasing stress and feelings of anxiousness that usually accompany stress.
- In a randomized control trial conducted on moderately stressed adults, Relora®was shown to decrease salivary cortisol exposure indicating a reduction in cortisol released from the adrenal glands. Participants also reported a reduction in feelings of stress and improvements in sleep disturbances and restlessness attributed to stress. Relora® allows individuals to feel less stress without causing drowsiness throughout the day.
