Immune – Cold & Flu is a professionally formulated synergistic blend of carefully selected and well- researched nutraceuticals that support immune health and reduce the effects stress on the body.
- N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) is an antioxidant supporting the production of the body's master antioxidant glutathione to promote detoxification.1 NAC has immunomodulating and anti-inflammatory effects. It reduces flu symptoms and supports respiratory health by helping to break up mucus and clear it from the airways.2-5
- Astragalus is a traditional Chinese herb that supports immunity, white blood cells, and balances excess cortisol due to chronic stress.6,7
- Quercetin, a flavonoid antioxidant helps to reduce the risk of infections including the flu, allergies, cancer, inflammatory condition and cardiovascular disease by inhibiting lipid peroxidation, platelet aggregation and capillary permeability.8,9 It also has been found to improve mental/physical performance.10
- Andographis also is known as “Indian Echinacea” has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties that can shorten the severity and duration of common colds.11 A review in 2017 of 33 previously published clinical trials has found that andographis may also be beneficial for relieving symptoms of acute upper respiratory tract infections.11
- Elderberry contains anthocyanin which is an antioxidant, antiviral agent, anti-inflammatory and may prevent or reduce the severity of certain common infections. It is believed to reduce upper-airway symptoms, reduce the severity and duration of infections especially if taken within the first 48 hours.12,13
- Echinacea contains flavonoids, cichoric acid and rosmarinic acid that contributes to its health benefits which include improved immunity, reduced inflammation, and ability to help lower blood sugar levels.14 A review of 14 studies found that it may lower the risk of developing colds by more than 50% and shorten the duration of colds by one and a half days.15
- Four Medicinal Mushrooms have been arduously selected that support immune function by enhancing white blood cells are rich in nutrients like vitamin B5, copper, selenium, beta-glucans and are adaptogens that reduce the effects of stress on the body. These include the Asian mushrooms cordyceps16,17, maitake18,19, reishi20,21, and shiitake.22
